When you are new to the PC building scene it can be a little intimidating when you see how many manufacturers compete for your money in today’s market and getting good and reliable components for your PC is crucial because it is very frustrating to spend a fortune on a PC and not getting a reliable machine.
But don’t worry in this article I will tell you which are the most reliable manufacturers of PC parts on the market that I worked with in my 20+ years of PC building/repairing experience.
Our recommended brands for each PC component are:
- CPU: AMD or Intel
- CPU Coolers: Noctua, beQuiet, Corsair, Coolermaster
- Graphics cards: EVGA, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac (AMD/Nvidia are the GPU manufacturer)

There are many Intel fanboys out there and for a good reason, Intel’s CPUs always delivered great performance and they are more than reliable, the only complaint was that in the past there wasn’t a great performance boost between CPU generations (around 10%) but this changed with the launch of Intel’s 12th generation CPUs.
Intel is for you if:
- you want great CPU overclocking capabilities
- you want the best CPU for gaming
- you are comfortable paying extra for CPU overclocking capability
- you desire lighting speed and increased reliability on an SSD

AMD

In the past, they couldn’t compete with Intel in the gaming department because they had far weaker single-core performance, this isn’t the case anymore. Some of the newer AMD CPUs can compete head to head with their Intel counterpart and in some cases even offer better performance.
AMD CPUs are renowned for offering a great price to performance ratio, so they are very often used on budget PCs.
Let us not forget that they produce very good GPUs but they aren’t sold separated, they are part of graphics cards so we will not speak about them in this article.
AMD is for you if:

- you want a CPU than can be overclocked in the future without paying extra (like on Intel’s K CPUs)

Unfortunately, their customer service is less than decent but on the plus side, there aren’t many situations in which you will need it because their HDDs are really good.

Seasonic is one of the biggest manufacturers of PSUs on the market and is well known for reliability and quality. It can be a great option if the top PSUs from Corsair are too expensive for you. Realy you can’t go wrong if you go with them or Corsair.
beQuiet!

CPU Coolers, Power supply, PC Cases

beQuiet! is a great western world solution for coolers, power supplies, and PC cases. Their main focus is to produce the quietest coolers and fans for cases.
They have one of the quietest PSUs on the market and are on every top 10 when it comes to CPU coolers. Let us not forget that they offer great customer service which is a big plus.

Noctua

If you want the absolute best coolers on the market that are dead silent then Noctua is the way to go. The only complaint can be that they are a bit expensive but well worth the money.
All the fans from my PC are from Nctua including the CPU cooler and I can tell you that even after 6 years of intensive use they work like new and are dead silent, I don’t even know that I have a PC in my room.

It would not be fair if I wouldn’t mention Coolermaster as a great option for CPU coolers, they really are good coolers but I really wood prefer Noctua.

You don’t always need to go with the most reputable brands but still in the PC world if you haven’t heard of the brand it is best to stay away because having a PC that will always break is very frustrating and time-consuming.
